Santino (Mafia Heat Book 4) Page 7
“Luca.” He twisted his fingers in my hair as he flicked his wrist back and forth, emptying all over me. He joined me on the floor, taking his time to kiss me. My body heated with lust for him. The more he touched me, the more I wanted. “Sorry.” He glanced between us as his come dripped down my stomach. “Come here.” He stood, removed his pants from around his ankles and then extended his hand to help me stand. “Let’s get you cleaned up.”
He led me to the bathroom, lifting me onto the counter. He took a towel from the linen closet and gently wiped my chest and stomach. Gazing into my eyes and placing soft kisses on my lips as he took care of me.
“For the record.” I nipped at his bottom lip. “I would have swallowed.”
“You dirty girl.” He gripped the back of my hair and guided me to his lips, roughly kissing me. “I thought you might.”
“Now you know.” I wrapped my legs around his waist. “For next time.”
“I look forward to next time.” He twirled his finger around my nipple. “But now I think it’s time to get you in my bed.”
“We never seem to make it there.”
“I can fix that.”
He lifted me off the counter and carried me to his bed, placing me in the center. He crawled in front of me, running his hands up my thighs. “These have to go.” He tugged on the sides of my panties, gliding them down my legs and tossing them over his shoulder.
“It’s my turn to taste you.” He lowered his head between my legs, breathing in my scent. “Delectable.”
He moved his mouth along my mound, spreading me with his fingers. With the tip of his tongue, he traced it along my clit, sending me into overdrive. I grasped the comforter as he took my calf in his hold and bent my leg. Sliding his fingers inside me, he licked my slit. His tongue created a stimulating sensation inside my core. Every nerve in my body pulsated with desire. Pushing my leg up, he changed the angle, causing me to scream out when his tongue and fingers worked in perfect coordination, bringing me to the brink of insanity.
I rocked my head from side to side as I raised my hips off the bed, moving them back and forth. I’d lost all sense of time and reality as his magic mouth brought me closer to release. I wasn’t even sure what he was doing down there but it was working.
“Santino,” I screamed out as I tumbled into pure ecstasy. My legs quivered against him while my hips continued to gyrate into his face. My heart wanted to pop right out of my chest as my breaths raggedly escaped my lips.
He slithered up my body, kissing my stomach and breasts, taking his time to hungrily take each of my nipples in his mouth, swirling his tongue around them and scraping his teeth along them. He joined me at the top of the bed and reached into his nightstand, taking out a strip of condoms. Ripping it open, he sheathed his glorious erection in the latex. A shiver of anticipation coursed through me as he climbed on top of me, kissing me as he caressed my hair.
“I feel like I’ve been waiting a long time to do this,” he whispered against my mouth. “I hope you know how much being with you means to me.”
“You’re the sweetest man I’ve ever met.”
“No one has ever accused me of that.”
“It’s true.” I took his face between my hands. “I love being with you.”
“The feeling is mutual.” He lifted my leg over his hip as he slowly entered me, inch by inch, giving me a moment to acclimate myself to his intrusion.
I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to relax. He was larger than I was used to but he had me so aroused, I could handle all of him. The care he took with me, made me fall a little deeper for him. He’d stolen my heart in a matter of weeks and now he owned every part of my mind, body, and soul.
Santino was a surprise I didn’t see coming. Weren’t those the best surprises? The unexpected.
“You’re so tight.” He gripped my hips, sliding further into me.
I gripped his biceps, indulging in the feel of him gorged inside me. With each shift forward, he seemed to fill me deeper than the thrust before. My heated flesh prickled with desire as I received him with a renewed enthusiasm. He clutched my backside, and lifted me off the bed as he slammed into me. I reached above my head and grabbed the spindles of the headboard.
He got up on his knees, taking my legs in his hands and spreading them apart. He pumped in and out of me until the stimulation became too much. I closed my eyes and yelled out my climax, shaking and writing beneath him. He pulled me into his lap and reentered me, guided my hips up and down as he kissed my neck and shoulders. Wrapping his arms around my back, he held me tight as he released into me, quietly whispering my name.
“Luca, my bella angelo.” He kissed me softly. “My angel.”
In that moment, I realized, I was meant to be his.
Chapter Seven
Let me rephrase...
Santino
Spending the night with Luca in my arms felt right. Having her in my bed gave me a peace of mind I didn’t know I was missing. I’d been a loner most of my life. I’d only ever needed my family. My brothers were my best friends, and their wives had become my sisters. We had plenty of loyal staff and guards, so even though I preferred to be alone, I was never lonely.
Gazing down at her, I took in her pristine good looks. She was a classic beauty but she was more than a pretty face. She was kind-hearted, had a sense of humor, and I enjoyed her witty comebacks. I liked when she teased me too.
“You’re staring at me.” She didn’t open her eyes. “I can sense it.”
“I can’t help it.” I kissed the top of her head as she rested on my chest. “I like looking at you.”
“Because I’m so cute?”
“Yes.” I laughed.
“It’s getting late.” She stretched out. “I should probably go.”
“Go?” I didn’t like the sound of that. “It’s practically the middle of the night. I’m not going to let you drive back to Brooklyn.”
“You’re not going to let me? Is that part of your Italian charm? Being barbaric?”
“Let me rephrase.”
“Please.”
“I’d prefer it if you didn’t wander out of here in the middle of the night and drive back to New York but if you insist, I’ll drive you myself but that would mean I’d have to call Art and have him come and follow us to your house.”
“Why?”
“Because, I’m not supposed to leave here in the middle of the night without him.”
“Does he live here?”
“No, but almost.” Art was never far. “Most of our regular security like Art and Tommy leave for the night unless one of us has to go out. On the weekends, our five drivers and my parents’ drivers will rotate and spend the night in the guest house in case we need to leave or have an emergency.”
“It’s all so coordinated.”
“We have better security than most celebrities.”
“I’ve noticed.”
“So, should I call Art and have him come for us?”
“I wouldn’t want to disturb him.” When she sat up, the sheet fell from her breasts, giving me the perfect view. “If you don’t mind me staying?”
I reached for her arm and pulled her back down. “I’m not going to let you leave.” I smacked her ass.
“Hey!” She screeched when my hand made contact with her bare skin.
“To answer your question, I am barbaric.”
“I might like that side of you.” She climbed on top of me, straddling me “Since I’m staying, we might as well have more wine.”
“And more sex?”
“Definitely more sex.”
Yes, she is my missing piece.
After another bottle of wine and a few more rounds of invigorating sex, we finally settled down and went to sleep. The television played in the background. I think we were watching an episode of Friends when we dozed off. Between the sex and the wine, my head was a little fuzzy.
It was almost dawn. The moon had disappeared from the view in the window, no lon
ger lighting the room. Aside from the birds chirping in the distance, the property was quiet.
My phone buzzed with a text. I wanted to ignore it but in my line of work, that was never a good idea. What if one of my brothers needed a lawyer? I reached for my phone, trying to delicately maneuver my hand out from underneath Luca. She was out.
I glanced at my phone. It was Dominick.
Can you come to the main house?
I quickly replied.
Now?
It was a stupid question. Of course, he meant now.
Yes, we have a shipment problem. Dad wants it resolved.

I rolled over and pushed the wild, tangled hair from Luca’s face. I didn’t want to disturb her but I also didn’t want her to wake up and not find me. I could text her but I wondered if that would make her mad. She wasn’t thrilled when I left her at the restaurant on our first date. That was different. Wasn’t it? She understood my family a little better now. It was also very early in the morning. She’d probably still be sleeping when I got back.
“You’re staring at me again,” she said in a sleepy voice.
“Because you’re beautiful.”
“What time is it?”
“It’s early.” I kissed her forehead. “I need to go to the main house.”
“Why?”
“My father needs me.”
“Oh.”
“I won’t be long.” Or, at least I hoped I wouldn’t be. “You go back to bed.”
“Okay.” She took my hand in hers. “Be back soon.”
“I will, baby.” I gently kissed her lips but she was already sleeping. I lingered for a few more minutes, watching her deep breathing. Her hand was still in mine and when her lips parted slightly, I realized I didn’t want to leave.
My sassy girl had me under some spell. I liked it.
LUCA
The sunlight streamed in from the large windows across from the bed. I sat up and looked around, feeling a slight headache in my temples. I may have consumed too much wine. Maybe I was dehydrated from the alcohol and the sex. I smiled. It was totally worth it.
Last night had exceeded every expectation I had ever imagined when I thought about being with Santino. I wasn’t even mad that he had to leave this morning. I would much rather him be here but I wasn’t going to give him a hard time for being so loyal to his family. A man could have worse qualities. He loved his family with every fiber of his being. I could respect that.
“Luca,” a voice called from downstairs. “It’s Angelique and Nadia.”
“I’ll be right there.” I frantically took in the room. Should I put my dress back on from last night? Borrow something from Santino? Our clothes were strewn around the room. I quickly hopped out of bed and tossed on Santino’s t-shirt and my panties. This brought walk of shame to a whole new level.
I made my way downstairs, the knot in my stomach grew tighter with each step. Why would Angelique and Nadia be here? I tried to smooth out my hair but the tangled curls were too much of a match for me.
“Hey.” Angelique hugged me when I got to the bottom step. “It’s so good to see you.”
“You too.” I awkwardly smiled. “I wasn’t expecting company.”
“We’re sorry to barge in on you,” Nadia said. “But Santino thought you’d like to have breakfast on my patio. He’s going to join us soon.”
“Oh, okay.”
“You look overwhelmed,” Angelique said. “Don’t be. We’re not that scary.”
“Right.” I nervously laughed. “Not at all.”
“Well, maybe we are just a little.” Nadia shrugged. “The men can be. Mostly Dominick and Gianni. Sometimes Santino. Dante for sure.”
“You’re going to scare her away.” Angelique handed me a fancy shopping bag. “There’s some clothes in there. Santino said you might want them.”
“Thank you.” I looked inside the bag.
“I took them out of my closet. It’s yoga pants, a tank top, and a sweat jacket. You can have them.”
“The tags are still on them.” I noted the hefty price tags on the brand-named workout clothes.
“You should see her closet,” Nadia said. “Most of her clothes still have the tags on them. I frequently shop there.”
“Gianni likes to shop. He’s always buying me something.” She pointed to the bag. “They’re yours now.”
“Thank you.” How generous of her to do that for me. Now I wouldn’t have to have breakfast with them in my clothes from last night.
“We’ll let you get ready.” Nadia nodded toward the family room. “If you go out the patio doors and follow the path, you’ll see mine and Vincenzo’s house first. We’ll be in the backyard. Take your time.”
“Sounds good.” I waved to them as they left through the patio doors. “Thanks, again.”
That was awkward in a nice sort of way. I always dreamed of a large family with sisters of my very own. I could see why they all wanted to live so close to one another. They were a family in the truest sense. I wondered what it would be like to be part of it. I wondered what it would be like to spend the rest of my life with Santino.
I’m getting ahead of myself. First, I should get through breakfast. Then, I will worry about the rest of my life. Maybe I should take a quick shower to clear my head. The steam might help tame this wild hair too.
Thirty minutes later, I strolled down the path to Nadia and Vincenzo’s house. The property was beautiful, especially this time of year as the leaves changed colors and began to fall to the ground. The brisk air mixed with the scent of a fire pit that burned beyond the black iron gates that enclosed the backyard.
When I came through the gates, I stood in awe of the oasis that greeted me. Keeping with the theme of the rest of the property, this backyard looked as if it could be featured in a magazine. Mums, pumpkins, and cornstalks adorned the patio making it look more like one of those farmers markets where you could buy fall decorations than someone’s actual backyard.
In the far corner of the yard there was a large swimming pool. It was covered for the season but it was the kind you’d see in a hotel or at the Olympics. Vincenzo swam in college but I had no idea he kept up the sport. The Marchellis were an impressive bunch. And I wasn’t even referring to what some of them did for a living.
“Luca.” Nadia motioned me over. “Come join us.”
I walked up the stone path to the patio, gawking at the delicious spread of bagels, muffins, juices, and fruits. Vincenzo stood from the table and greeted me. Seeing my boss first thing on a Sunday morning was the last thing I expected.
“Luca, welcome.” He pulled the chair out next to him for me to sit. “Make yourself at home.”
“Hey, Vince.” I smiled, trying not to demonstrate how absurd I felt about sleeping at his brother’s house and ending up wearing his sister-in-law’s clothes while I ate breakfast at his house after his wife practically saw me in my underwear. Could I be more ridiculous? “You probably didn’t expect to see me today.”
“No.” He grinned. “I didn’t but I’m glad you’re here.”
“You made it.” Angelique placed a fancy pot of coffee on the table before taking a seat across from me. “Help yourself to whatever you want. The staff can make you eggs or pancakes.”
“The staff?” I tucked my hair behind my ear. “They make you breakfast to order?”
“Only on Sunday’s.” Nadia sat on the other side of Vince. “It takes some getting used to.”
“We take turns between here and Angelique’s house for Sunday breakfast,” Nadia explained. “In the summer, we’re mostly here because of the pool. Everyone likes to swim before dinner at the main house.”
“Santino told me about those dinners.” I gazed around the yard. “Your home is beautiful.”
“Thank you,” Nadia said.
“Where are your precious babies?” I asked Angelique.
“They got up at the crack of dawn this morning. They heard Gianni leave for the main house.” Sh
e rolled her eyes. “I guess Santino woke you up too.”
I nodded, shifting my eyes to Vince who was busy with a grapefruit. Does he care that I’m sleeping with his brother?
“The twins went back to sleep. Erica will bring them here when they wake up.” Angelique poured a glass of juice. “I’m trying to eat before that happens.”
“Is Erica your nanny?” I asked.
“She’s more than that.” She beamed when she spoke of this woman. “She was actually my nanny. My mother died when I was young, so I consider her my mom. When Gianni and I got married, Erica came to live with us. When I got pregnant, we built her an adjoining suite off our house. It’s wonderful having her with us.”
“I’m hoping she’ll help me too.” Nadia smiled at Vince. “When the time comes.”
Vincenzo patted his wife’s hand and I hoped with all of my heart, they would have a baby soon. As Nadia and Angelique engaged in conversation, Vince directed his attention to me.
“So, you and Santino?”
“Ah ha.” I bit my lip. “Strange?”
“I didn’t see it coming.”
“Neither did I.”
“He tells me you’re considering law school.” He arched his brow. “How come this is the first I’m hearing of it?”
“Nothing is set in stone. It’s a dream of mine but I didn’t really have a plan.”
“Well, let’s get a plan in place,” he said. “Start looking at schools and I’ll take care of it.”
“You’ll take care of what?”
“Tuition, references, whatever you need.”
“You can’t pay for law school.”
“Yes, he can,” Nadia said. “Take him up on it.”
“I can’t.” I shook my head. “You don’t have to do that.”
“Consider it part of the benefits of working for me. I don’t make your life easy so it’s the least I can do. I hope you’ll stay on but if you choose somewhere other than here, I’ll support your choice.”
“I was thinking local. I mean, I don’t want to go to Harvard or anything.”
“Nothing wrong with Harvard.” He smirked. “It’s pretty competitive though.”
